About Us
Our dream to establish a family business was realised on 1 September 2004 when ElJoSa was launched.
The business quickly expanded and today, it has 14 vehicles. Currently the company has four divisions: Operations, Administration, Financial and the Workshop.
Johannes Horn’s involvement in the bus industry started during his years as student at the University of Stellenbosch when he worked as part-time bus driver for a local bus operator. With the diesel running thickly in his veins, and although he had trained and worked as teacher, he decided to leave the profession to join the bus operator full time. After another nine and a half years he left to follow his heart and live his dream: to start his own bus company and to provide an excellent transport service to his clients.
Elmi, his sister-in-law, offered financial and strategic support, and together they bought their first bus. Johannes's wife, Sarlene, joined the business and established the HR and PRO team. The name of the company, ElJoSa, derives from the three main role-players’ first names.
During ElJoSa’s first four months, Johannes was the sole operations manager, administrative manager and financial manager. The business quickly expanded and today, less than seven years later, it has 14 vehicles and 29 reliable,
experienced staff members.
Each of the buses in ElJoSa’s fleet has been named after a much-loved pet. Each bus also carries a paw print of the companion and loyal friend it has been named after. As the company grew other names like Jock, Spokie, Idefix and Valie have been added.
